Common Questions People Have About Therapy.
I think about therapy kind of like talking to a trusted friend, who happens to have years of training and experience in the things you need help with.

As your therapist or counselor, I only have your best interests as my focus.

You also know that what we talk about is kept confidential. No gossip from me :)

You know that unlike friends and family, I won't "get tired of hearing you talk about it", and I don't have any other agendas.

As your therapist, I can help you see all of the wonderful things about you and find your inner strength.

When I think about my role as a therapist like this, I am so honored to be that person for my clients. If you are a new mom, an experienced mom or a woman healing from trauma, big changes, anxiety or depression, you are who I love to support.

Do any of these statements sound familiar ?

  • Your anxiety gets in the way of doing the things you want to do.
  • You have performance anxiety.
  • You are a woman seeking support from an experienced female therapist.
  • You may have experienced a traumatic event or are dealing with big life challenges or changes.
  • You feel like anxiety is having a negative impact on your life or is out of control.
  • You are a new mom. You are not an expert at this and it can be so overwhelming.
  • You feel overwhelmed by your demanding and busy life and need some support.
  • You feel like your friends may be tired of hearing about your problems, but you need someone to talk to who really gets what you're going through.
  • It's like you've hit a wall and need help getting unstuck.
  • You are feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stressed or depressed.
  • You can fake "being fine" around others, but you worry that this is the best life gets.
  • It's clear to you that something needs to change, but you don't know where to start.
  • You feel guilty complaining because "things could be worse".
  • The things you used to enjoy feel like work and you wonder if you can get that passion and energy back.
  • You have everything you thought you wanted in life, yet you are not happy.
  • The things you usually do when you're feeling down, don't seem to be working anymore.
  • You are always tired or you get frustrated easily.
  • It feels like life is passing you by and you are missing the happy part.
  • Setting boundaries may feel hard or unfamiliar.

If this sounds like you, I know that I can help. I know that life can be better than this and I know that you can get past the past in a healthy way.

Together we can make that positive and lasting change you want and need.

Welcome!  I am so glad that you are here.  Please take a few minutes to browse around my therapy site and see what I am all about.  My number one goal is for you to feel comfortable talking about anything with me. I am an experienced therapist and I work with a lot of women who are stressed, overwhelmed, anxious or depressed. This can be due to life transitions, past trauma or a difficult current situation.  I also have years of experience treating individuals who have experienced trauma from the past or present.

It is so exciting to see clients try a new strategy or come to a new realization and find relief or success in therapy. That little spark begins to grow and hope for the future develops, self confidence improves, the joy of getting back on track emerges.  I know the value of therapy and counseling, not only from the perspective of a therapist but also as a client myself. I would love to share this very special form of self care with you and see how it helps you through a challenging time.
I offer online therapy throughout California.

"Sara is amazing!  I have been to counselor's all over the country, and she is by far, the best.  I was seeing another counselor in San Diego and I was just not feeling validated or like I was being challenged.  I found Sara on Facebook and her blogs and video's really resonated with me.  I liked her calm, gentle spirit.  I liked her overall messages!
She has helped me, in a short time, heal in a way that my previous counselor couldn't. Life is challenging and confusing.  I recommend Sara as a "port" in the storm. "
